In 2007, after 37 years of service, Dave retired as Chief from the Brattleboro Fire Department. During his time at BFD he also worked 7 years as a Part-time police officer for the Brattleboro Police Department.

In 2007 Dave joined the Windham County Sheriff’s Department as a part time Deputy and currently is assigned to the Vermont Superior Court in Windham County. Deputy Emery maintains certifications in first aid, Hazmat, RADAR, LIDAR, and OC Instruction.

Dave holds a second position working for the State of Vermont Radiological Office. He is also the International President for the Red Knights, and is a member of the Blue Knights VT Chapter #2.
