Sergeant Dana Shepard began his career as a Part Time Deputy with the Windham County Sheriff’s Department in 1998, working on Stratton Mountain. He graduated from the Vermont Full Time Police Academy in 1999.

Sergeant Shepard worked for the Winhall Police Department in 2000 before returning to the Sheriff’s Department.

Sergeant Shepard is currently assigned as a State Transport Deputy and holds certifications for LIDAR, Radar, DUI, FTO and is a County Gang Specialist.

Sergeant Shepard was active duty Army from 1991 till 1997 serving tours in Colorado, Germany and Bosnia and in the Army National Guard from 1997 till 2006 with a tour in Kuwait.
